Will Close and others join Ambika Mod in new world premiere play at the Royal Court

The Royal Court Theatre has revealed the full cast and creative team for the world premiere of Sophia Chetin-Leuner’s new play.

Revealed as part of the 2025 season, the piece will star Ambika Mod.

Porn Play will be directed by Josie Rourke, with choreography by Wayne McGregor. It explores women’s relationship to porn through one academic’s addiction.

Joining Mod will be Olivier Award winner Will Close, Lizzy Connolly, and Asif Khan.

A co-production with Sister, the designer is Yimei Zhao, the lighting designer is Mark Henderson, the movement director is Wayne McGregor, and Helen Skiera is the sound designer, while casting is by Jessica Ronane and Saffeya Shebli. The costume supervisor is Ellen Rey de Castro, while the stage manager is Aime Neeme and the deputy stage manager is Charlotte Padgham.

The play will run in the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs from Thursday 6 November 2025 to Saturday 13 December 2025, with a press night on Thursday 13 November 2025.
