The show also celebrates its tenth birthday in the West End this evening with a gala performance
To celebrate a decade since opening in London, Wicked have announced a brand new tour in the UK and Ireland.
The ten-city tour will begin at the Bristol Hippodrome in February 2018 (tickets on sale in February 2017) with further cities to be announced.
Stephen Schwartz's musical today celebrates its tenth anniversary with a special gala production at the Apollo Victoria.
Wicked opened in the West End on 27 September 2006, with previews from 7 September. The show has played over 4000 performances at the Apollo Victoria and on 12 November Wicked will become the 18th longest running show in West End history.
The show was also the first in West End history to gross over £1,000,000 in a single week. It has won nine WhatsOnStage Awards, two Olivier Audience Awards and an Evening Standard Theatre Award.
Wicked currently stars Rachel Tucker (Elphaba), Suzie Mathers (Glinda), Oliver Savile (Fiyero), Anita Dobson (Madame Morrible), Mark Curry (The Wizard), Martin Ball (Doctor Dillamond), Katie Rowley Jones (Nessarose), Idriss Kargbo (Boq), Alice Fearn (Standby for Elphaba) and Carina Gillespie (Standby for Glinda).
Willemijn Verkaik will return to the role of Elphaba from 30 January.
Wicked runs at the Apollo Victoria and is currently booking until 4 November 2017.
