WhatsOnStage's Chief Operating Officer Sita McIntosh has been appointed Chair of the Board of Trustees at Tonic Theatre.

Tonic Theatre, run by Lucy Kerbel, is dedicated to helping achieve greater gender equality across the theatre industry. Founded in 2011, Tonic works with leading theatre companies and organisations on a range of initiatives including consultancy, events and publications.

McIntosh said: "Tonic Theatre has committed to an incredible range of work with Lucy Kerbel at the helm, and has achieved so much in just five years working across the industry including with such prestigious organisations as the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company. I was honoured to be asked to chair Tonic Theatre and am thrilled to finally be on-board. International Women’s Day is a timely reminder that there is still a lot to do. I can’t wait to get started."

Prior to taking up her role at WhatsOnStage in 2014, McIntosh worked at Ticketmaster and has over twenty years experience in sales, marketing and ticketing.

Kerbel added: "I am absolutely delighted that Sita McIntosh will be joining Tonic Theatre as Chair of the Board of Trustees. Sita brings with her an outstanding knowledge of the business, a passion for great theatre, and an infectious energy. The Trustees and I very much look forward to starting work with her."
