Watch Jessie J perform “Defying Gravity” after revealing she auditioned for Wicked movies

Jessie J went into the BBC Radio 2 Piano Room to perform a series of live tracks – and in the process revealed she auditioned for the Wicked movies.

Chatting to Vernon Kay as she prepared to launch into her take on “Defying Gravity”, Jessie J revealed that she was in the running for the blockbuster musical adaptation: “I auditioned for Wicked the film and I got quite close to the end – I was really proud of myself. I’ve always wanted to sing the song publicly.”

Jessie J released her sixth studio album, Don’t Tease Me With a Good Time, in November last year, a record that was written and recorded during a time in which she also received treatment for breast cancer.
