Frank Wildhorn’s musical is an adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s classic 1865 novel
Frank Wildhorn‘s Tony Award-nominated musical Wonderland, will receive its UK and European premiere next year when it opens at the Edinburgh Playhouse prior to a UK tour.
Wonderland is an adaption of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, with music from Wildhorn, whose other theatre credits include Jekyll & Hyde and Bonnie & Clyde. He has also written pop hits including Whitney Houston’s "Where Do Broken Hearts Go?"
The production will be directed by Lotte Wakeham (Matilda, West End & Broadway), with musical supervision by Jason Howland (Beautiful, West End & Broadway), choreography by Lucie Pankhurst (Dogfight, Southwark Playhouse), design by Georgia Lowe (Pomona) and lighting design by Nick Richings (The Rocky Horror Show, UK tour).
Wonderland runs at the Edinburgh Playhouse from 20 to Saturday 28 January 2017, prior to a UK tour with dates at Sunderland, Birmingham, Southend, Oxford, Grimsby, York, Bromley, Derry, Belfast, Woking, Blackpool, Southampton and Manchester.
