I’m the month you want, it’s May, it’s MAYYYYYY!

Seriously, though, there are so many musical theatre numbers that celebrate (purposely or not) the lusty month of May.

Here are just some of our favourites! Remember to share yours with us on social media.

Tra-la! It’s May! The Lusty Month of May

It is, of course, that lovely month when everyone goes blissfully astray, according to Guenevere. Will you be taking a gorgeous holiday this month?

On the 20th May…

One Eliza Doolittle proclaimed a day in her honour! Bloom into the best version of yourself this month.

I may have punched him…

It’s a blur, sir. Not everybody can be in the best of moods this month, after all.

It’s gonna be May!

Perhaps the greatest use of lyrical word-play in a jukebox musical comes from a blossoming relationship in & Juliet.

“Come what may…”

On the subject of love songs, we present what might be the most romantic of all from Moulin Rouge!.

You can bet your bottom dollar

We had to include everybody’s favourite curly-haired orphan Annie’s hopeful tune. Here’s hoping for that sun, kid.

On the 15th of May…

In the jungle of Nool! Horton heard a small noise… and you know the rest!

End of May or early June…

We’ll all have picture-perfect afternoons to share. But in the meantime, this song is going to be in your head, “For Forever”.

The last one to listen to!

As Stephen Sondheim famously said, “Children may not obey, but children will listen.”
