5. Cyrano de Bergerac – Theatr Clwyd

Gavin and Stacey star Steffan Rhodri leads the all-Welsh cast of this production of Edmond Rostand's 1897 play. Think you've seen this play before? Not like this, with additional poetry from acclaimed poet and musician Twm Morys in Welsh language, this will be a whole new take.

Three cinema employees bemoan their dead-end, underpaid jobs in Annie Baker's Pulitzer Prize-winning play that examines the need for authenticity in a fast-changing world.

3. My Mother Said I Never Should – St James Theatre

The legend that is Maureen Lipman stars alongside Olivier Award winner Katie Brayben (Beautiful), Caroline Faber and Serena Manteghi in this revival of Charlotte Keatley's complex play that takes place over 100 years and four generations.

2. Funny Girl – Savoy Theatre

Michael Mayer's revival broke records when it sold out it's run at the Menier within minutes of going on sale, but now fans of the show and it's lead actress, Sheridan Smith, have another opportunity to catch the Legally Blonde star in action as it transfers to the West End.

1. The Comedy About a Bank Robbery – Criterion

Following on from their WhatsOnStage and Olivier Award-winning smash hit here, the Mischief Theatre gang reunite for this comedy caper about, yes you guessed it, a bank robbery. The creators claim it's not another 'goes wrong' play, but we're guessing the heist won't go quite to plan. Expect a safe full of of farce and slapstick.
