The Yard Theatre have announced their autumn season with highlights including a London premiere from women's theatre company Clean Break and a new play directed by Theatr Clwyd aritstic director Tamara Harvey.

Opening the season in September, Clean Break will present House by Somalia Seaton and Amongst the Reeds by Chino Odimba. The double-bill will be directed by Róisín McBrinn, Clean Break's head of artistic programming. House follows Pat as she returns to her childhood home after a five year absence to deal with her family, culture clashes and memories whilst Amongst the Reeds follows two friends on the margins of society.

Up next will be Pilgrims. Written by Elinor Cook, winner of the George Devine Award for Most Promising Playwright, the play explores friendship, betrayal, and a man's desire to conquer the world. Harvey directs the production which runs from 20 September to 15 October.

Lastly, M. J. Harding and Jay Miller's Removal Men will run from November. Directed by Yard artistic director Miller, the play with songs tells the story of Mo, a detention officer in an immigration removal centre, and his warped love for Didi, a Druze detainee.

Miller commented: "The Yard is five years old in July. In five short years we have developed work that feels important, that feels raw, that might provoke some positive change. We have offered opportunities to artists who have gone out into the world better equipped to make the theatre we should be making. And we have made all of this work accessible to our audiences.

"This autumn season I think continues to develop the principles with which we started. We want to tell stories that aren't being told, we want to give people voices, we want to do that through collaboration and partnerships."
