The Outsiders musical will transfer to the West End, it has been confirmed.

The news comes following the announcement that the Broadway production has recouped its $22 million investment.

The show, which opened at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre in New York, reached this financial milestone on 27 January 2026. This makes it the first new musical to recoup on Broadway since 2022.

The production is based on the 1967 novel by S E Hinton and the 1983 film directed by Francis Ford Coppola. It features a book by Adam Rapp and Justin Levine, with music and lyrics by Jamestown Revival and Levine.

The staging is directed by Danya Taymor and choreographed by Rick and Jeff Kuperman. The Broadway production received four Tony Awards in 2024, including Best Musical.

Producers Matthew Rego, Michael Rego, and Hank Unger confirmed that international plans for London are currently in development following the recoup reveal.

Specific details regarding the London venue, performance dates, and casting have not yet been released.

The Broadway production has played over 740 performances and a North American tour is currently in progress.
