This is an excellent kids show with some great puppetry that had every child around me on the edge of their seat.
Pulling the strings to bring the story of an unfortunate king born with an ass’s ears to life is puppeteer Andy Lawrence, a natural on stage who engages the young audience with a range of intriguing characters, including loyal hound Scruffibus.
Beautifully-made puppets and sets as well as slick scene changes contribute to making The King’s Got Donkey Ears! a real highlight of the children’s programme. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone of any age who is keen to transport themselves back to their own childhood and completely submerge themselves in an excellent piece of storytellying from one of the best in the biz.
