The Donmar Warehouse’s production of The Guilty, starring Russell Tovey, will transfer to the West End this January.

Tovey plays police officer Joe in the solo play, who is assigned to desk duties and takes a 999 call from Emily, a woman in danger. As he attempts to piece together fragmented clues to establish her whereabouts and circumstances, the call develops into a thriller in which Joe begins to question what is happening.

Written by Chloë Moss and directed by Felix Barrett, the production opens at the Harold Pinter Theatre on 27 January 2027, with previews from 16 January. It runs until 3 April.

The production premiered at the Donmar Warehouse, where it sold out its run. The Guilty is based on the film Den Skyldige, written by Gustav Möller and Emil Nygaard Albertsen.

“I’ve never quite had an experience like The Guilty,” said Tovey. “Every single performance at the Donmar vibrated with an energy I’ve never felt on stage – audience and performer connected and intertwined. I cannot wait to perform it in The Pinter.”

Tickets are priced from £30, with more than 20,000 tickets across the run available for £40 or less. Public booking opens at 10am on 16 October 2026.

The cast comprises Tovey, with the creative team including director Barrett, set designer Alex Eales, lighting designer Anna Watson, sound designer Gareth Fry, video designer Luke Halls, associate director Elin Schofield, casting director Lotte Hines, production manager Chris Hay and assistant director Jessy Roberts.
