Jason Robert Brown and Marsha Norman's hit musical The Bridges of Madison County will have its UK premiere at the Menier Chocolate Factory in July.

Directed by Trevor Nunn (who oversaw the venue's revival of Fiddler on the Roof currently running in the West End), the musical is based on Robert James Waller's bestselling 1992 novel of the same name about an Italian immigrant housewife living on a American Midwest farm who falls in love with a photographer visiting the area.

The musical won two Tony Awards, Best Original Score and Best Orchestrations, when it first premiered on Broadway in 2014.

Nunn's new staging will have design by Jon Bausor, lighting by Tim Lutkin, sound by Gregory Clarke and musical supervision and direction by Tom Murray. Casting is to be announced.

The Bridges of Madison County runs from 12 July to 14 September with an official opening night on 23 July.
