The saying “the show must go on”
was taken literally by the Texas Tenors as they found themselves stuck in
Scotland at lunchtime on Saturday, with a concert in Whitely Bay that
evening.
The guys, who came forth on Americas Got Talent,
were due to travel from Ayr to Whitley Bay on Saturday by road. Unfortunately
the transportation broke down and as a replacement could not be located,
Marcus, JC and John set off by train themselves.
A taxi took them to Ayr Station,
where they caught a train to Glasgow, where they changed trains for Edinburgh.
Finally they transferred to a Newcastle bound train where they were collected
at the station. On the way to Whitley Bay Playhouse they managed to grab a
McDonalds in ASDA at Benton. So if you saw three Texans grabbing cheese burgers
while doing your weekly shopping you know who it was. John told us that he had
never seen a McDonalds inside a grocery store before.
The three tenors arrived at the
venue forty minutes before the show started and completed a sound check before
the audience were admitted to the auditorium.
Needless to say the dramas of the
day were kept from the audience who enjoyed the show and justly gave the Texas Tenors
a standing ovation.
