Tangled live-action movie casts Rapunzel and Flynn

Disney has announced that Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim will lead the cast of the live-action film adaptation of Tangled.

Croft, known for her role in the television series Titans, will play Rapunzel. Manheim, who appeared in the Zombies film franchise and the Off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors (as well as the Hollywood Bowl version of Jesus Christ Superstar), will play Flynn Rider.

The production will be directed by Michael Gracey, whose previous credits include The Greatest Showman and Better Man. The screenplay is written by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. Kristin Burr and Lucy Kitada serve as producers.

The film is a remake of the 2010 animated musical, based on the Rapunzel fairytale, which featured music by Alan Menken and Glenn Slater, with numbers including “I See The Light” and “Mother Knows Best.”

First revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, a release date for the film is currently unknown.
