The show opens in June

Actor Steven Webb has been announced for the US premiere of Feeling Afraid As If Something Terrible Is Going To Happen, a one-person play by Marcelo Dos Santos, which will run at Studio Theatre in Washington DC this summer.
The production is presented by Francesca Moody Productions and will begin previews on 4 June, with performances continuing until 12 July.
The play was first staged at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2022, where it received a Fringe First award, before transferring to the Bush Theatre in London the following year.
Since then, the piece has toured internationally, including performances at Arts Centre Melbourne, Sydney Opera House and the Adelaide Festival. The Washington run marks the show’s first production in the United States.
The play centres on a stand-up comedian who, after years of dating apps and casual encounters, believes he has found a meaningful relationship, only to undermine it.
The production is directed by Matthew Xia, artistic director of Actors Touring Company. The creative team also includes designer Kat Heath, lighting designer Elliot Griggs, sound designer Max Pappenheim, associate director Sophie Drake and production manager Jack Boissieux.
The US premiere continues FMP’s international activity, following recent presentations of Weather Girl in New York and An Oak Tree in Europe.
The company’s current and forthcoming projects also include Relics at the Lyric Hammersmith and the Shedinburgh Fringe Festival.
