Exclusive: Riverside Studios will host the world premiere of Interview from 23 August to 27 September 2025.

Adapted and directed by Teunkie Van Der Sluijs, the production is based on Theo van Gogh’s 2003 Dutch film with a screenplay by Theodor Holman. It marks the first English-language staging of the story, which has been presented in several European versions.

Set over the course of one night, the play centres on a tense encounter between political journalist Pierre Peters and influencer-turned-film-star Katya.

The production plans to incorporate multimedia elements to bring the characters’ digital interactions — messages, social media and private moments — into full view.

The creative team includes scenic designer Derek McLane, costume designer Bernat Buscato, lighting designer Jackie Shemesh, sound designer Ata Güner, and projection design collective idontloveyouanymore (Anna West and Davi Callanan). Ben Davies is associate designer and Zoë Templeman-Young is associate director. Casting is by Julia Crampsie and Wayne Linge for Crampsie Linge Casting.

The production is general managed by Smart Entertainment and produced by Douglas Denoff, with co-producers Kevin Kinsella, Alexander “Sandy” Marshall and Broadway Rainbows.
