The Spring Dance season at the London Coliseum has finalised its line-up of visiting troupes. This includes the first ever performance at the Coliseum of the Ballet Nacional de Cuba, which dances both Swan Lake and a mixed bill. The Cuban dance star Carlos Acosta, who used to perform with the company, will appear as Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake on 30 March and 1 April, and as Don Quixote in the mixed bill Magia de la Danza on 7 and 8 April.

The season also includes the long-awaited return of Mark Morris’s landmark ballet L’Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato, which was last seen at the Coliseum a decade ago. Birmingham Royal Ballet appears with its production of The Sleeping Beauty and Ballet Nacional de España completes the season with two flamenco-themed works: Dualia by the flamenco duo Rojas and Rodriguez, and La Leyenda (The Legend) by the company’s artistic director José Antonio. The latter is a tribute to the famous flamenco star Carmen Amaya who died in 1963.

Spring Dance at the Coliseum runs from 30 March to 2 May 2010
