SpongeBob flies into Blue Planet Aquarium

The UK tour of the musical SpongeBob SquarePants – The Sponge Who Could Fly appears at Liverpool’s Empire theatre in May.

To mark the occasion a special visit was made by the famous television character, now stage star, to the Blue Planet Aquarium in Ellesmere Port, Wirral.

Merseyside children got the opportunity to have their photograph taken with SpongeBob and his fishy friends, who surfaced from beneath their undersea hometown – Bikini Bottom.

SpongeBob SquarePants – The Sponge Who Could Fly is a new musical which sees SpongeBob, Patrick and their zany Bikini Bottom pals help SpongeBob embark on his dream to fly with the jellyfish. Will he take flight or will his dream come crashing down to the ocean floor?

The musical arrives to the Empire from 20 May and runs until 24 May.
