Mel C told ”Gay Times” that the group have been discussing a revival of the show
It may have said goodbye just months after it opened in 2012, but Spice Girls musical Viva Forever! could be coming back to spice up your life.
According to Melanie Chisholm, AKA Sporty Spice – who is no theatre wannabe, with credits including Blood Brothers, Jesus Christ Superstar and a School of Rock cameo – the girl group have been talking about a revival of the show.
"The music lends itself so well to musical theatre" the performer told Gay Times, adding: "I just think, at some point, we will [bring it back].
"It’s something we talk about. We’d really love to make that work and for people, not only in London to enjoy it but tour it and take it international. We’d love to do that!"
Penned by Jennifer Saunders, the musical features Spice Girls hits "Wannabe", "Who Do You Think You Are" and "2 Become 1", and follows a budding pop star on a TV talent show.
Produced by Judy Craymer (Mamma Mia!), it opened at the Piccadilly Theatre in December 2012, with a cast including Hannah John-Kamen and Sally Ann Triplett, and closed in June 2013.
