Production images have been released for Quartermaine’s Terms, which opens at the Wyndham’s Theatre this week (29 January 2013, previews from 23 January) following a short UK tour.

Directed by former National Theatre artistic director Richard Eyre and designed by Tim Hatley, the play stars Rowan Atkinson in his first appearance in a play for 25 years. The cast also includes Conleth Hill, Will Keen, Felicity Montagu, Malcolm Sinclair, Matthew Cottle and Louise Ford.

The first major West End revival of Simon Gray’s play; Quartermaine’s Terms takes place over a period of two years in the 1960s in the staffroom at a Cambridge school for teaching English to foreigners. It deals with the interrelationship between seven teachers at the school in particular that between St John Quartermaine and the others.
