Shakespeare’s Globe has announced full casting for A Midsummer Night’s Dream: For One Night Only, which takes place on 14 September.

Stephen Mangan will return to the Globe to perform as Bottom in the unique event, directed by Blanche McIntyre. Joining him will be Alfred Enoch as Lysander, Leah Harvey as Hermia/First Fairy, Tanya Reynolds as Helena, Zach Wyatt as Demetrius, Paul Chahidi as Puck, Michelle Terry as Titania/Hippolyta, Paul Ready as Theseus/Oberon, Susan Wokoma as Quince/Egeus, Ényì Okoronkwo as Flute/Peaseblossom, Jamie Wilkes as Snug/Cobweb, Jolyon Coy as Snout/Moth, Jacoba Williams as Starveling/Mustardseed, and Sarah Finigan as Prompt/Philostrate.

The production will follow the Globe’s “For One Night Only” format, with actors only given their own lines and cues, without rehearsal or a full script, echoing performance practices from 400 years ago. The event forms part of the Globe’s celebrations of the First Folio.

The creative team includes director Blanche McIntyre, costume designer and supervisor Harriet Barsby, composer Tim Sutton, choreographer Sian Williams, text by Si Trinder, fight director Philip D’Orléans, and voice coach Annemette Verspeak.
