Emmerdale star Roxanne Pallett has withdrawn from the UK tour of The Wedding Singer on the advice of her doctor.

Producers have released a statement saying: "Unfortunately Roxanne Pallett will no longer be performing as Holly in The Wedding Singer for the remainder of the UK tour, following the advice of her doctor. We wish Roxanne well and look forward to announcing her replacement shortly."

Directed and choreographed by Nick Winston, the cast also features Jon Robyns as Robbie Hart, Ray Quinn as Glenn, Cassie Compton as Julia, Ruth Madoc as Grandma Rosie and Samuel Holmes as George.

Based on the film of the same name starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, The Wedding Singer tells of a wannabe rock star Robbie, who is a wedding singer in New Jersey, and his love interest Julia.

It has music from Matthew Sklar, a book by Chad Beguelin and Tim Herlihy and lyrics from Beguelin.
