It may have been a while since we first heard about it (See The Goss, 14 Oct 2003), but  rumours of a Pink Panther musical are once again stirring.

The Shadow of the Pink Panther, based on the original Inspector Clouseau tales, could be set to hit the West End by early 2011. The show would feature a score written by the late Henry Mancini, writer of the signature Pink Panther theme, which collaborating writers will help complete and expand ready for production.

It is believed the idea came about during the preparations for the stage version of Victor/Victoria – penned by Pink Panther writer/director Blake Edwards – back in the early 1990s. According to insiders, the idea has been reignited and a workshop is set to be held early next year.
