Chris Harper will join the venue as director of programming
Paul Taylor-Mills has announced that he has stood down as artistic director of The Other Palace.
Taylor-Mills, who relaunchedthe Victoria-based theatre with Andrew Lloyd Webber last year as a new musicals venue, said in a statement: "I've had the most wonderful couple of years working with Andrew… and establishing The Other Palace as one of the most important and dynamic venues in London for the new musical theatre scene.
"After spending the last couple of months being able to get my hands dirty on the producing of Heathers The Musical, I've reminded myself that this is where I get really excited and am keen to be able to focus my attentions on more of my independent projects."
Producer Chris Harper – whose production company with Marianne Elliott, Elliott and Harper, is responsible for the recent production of Heisenberg and the upcoming Company – will join The Other Palace as director of programming, with Taylor-Mills taking on the new role of affiliate producer, with his first production being Heathers starring Carrie Hope Fletcher, which opens from previews later this move.
The Other Palace will continue to develop new musicals in its studio space with the main house opened up to a variety of work including plays.
