Squeaky-voiced comedian Joe Pasquale is returning to the role of King Arthur in Spamalot, alongside Hollyoaks and Shrek The Musical star Carley Stenson, from 20 January.

Veteran entertainer Pasquale, whose career has seen a resurgence since appearing on TV shows including I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, replaces children’s presenter Richard McCourt in the lead role.

Based on the classic Monty Python And The Holy Grail, Spamalot opened at the Playhouse Theatre in November 2012 following a successful run at the Harold Pinter Theatre.

This article has been amended since its initial publication. The original article stated that the show was due to close, however this has not yet been confirmed.
