The event, presented with Cunard, is taking place at the Royal Albert Hall – and the BBC is doing a bumper soirée of coverage. You can find out more about that here. It marks the 50th anniversary of the ceremony. The Olivier Awards were established in 1976 to recognise achievement in London theatre.

Set to perform, and their numbers are:
– “Masquerade” into “Phantom of the Opera” from Phantom of the Opera
– “Marmalade” from Paddington The Musical, performed by Tom Edden, James Hameed, Arti Shah and the company
– “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” from Evita, performed by Rachel Zegler
– “First Midnight” into “Giants in the Sky” from Into the Woods, performed by Jo Foster and the company
– “Independently Owned” by Georgina Onuorah from Shucked
– “We Can Do It” / “I Wanna Be A Producer” from The Producers, including Andy Nyman, Marc Antolin and the company
– “Keep on Walking Mr Fry” from The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry with the company
– A finale from Wicked – “For Good” performed by Zizi Strallen and Emma Kingston
are nominated musicals , Shucked. There will also be anniversary celebrations for Phantom of the Opera and Wicked, marking 40 and 20 years, respectively, in the West End this year.
On presenting duties will be Adjoa Andoh, Monica Barbaro, Danielle de Niese, Amelia Dimoldenberg, Minnie Driver and Ambika Mod, David Harewood, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Wayne McGregor, Ian McKellen and Helen Mirren, Richard Osman, Arlene Phillips, Aaron Pierre and Olivia Williams, Johannes Radebe, Sam Ryder, Russell Tovey, Vanessa Williams and Matt Willis.
