New production images of the returning Jesus Christ Superstar have been released, as the show opens at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre.
Timothy Sheader's production premiered last summer at the theatre with Declan Bennett starring as Jesus and Tyrone Huntley as Judas.
The musical is Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's 1970 piece, which originally started life as a rock opera. The songs were released on a concept album and the first incarnation of the show opened on Broadway in 1970. The show is loosely inspired by the Gospel's accounts of the last week of Jesus' life.
Bennett and Huntley reprise their roles along with David Thaxton as Pilate and Peter Caulfield as Herod. Read our review of the show here.
Jesus Christ Superstar runs at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre until 23 September.
