A new musical titled Raising Gays will receive a concert reading at the Garrick Theatre on Sunday 5 July 2026.

Set in the Somerset town of Little Malden, the musical follows a group of parents navigating the challenges of raising queer children. When they become involved in organising a parents’ float for the town’s first Pride parade, their efforts lead them to confront their own assumptions and fears around parenthood and allyship.

The cast will include Damian Humbley as Benji Sutton-Cole, Sarah Ingram as Jenny Bennet, Melanie La Barrie as Steph Eastmond, Michael Matus as Paul Bennet, Joanna Riding as Marcie Betheridge and Sydney Sainté as Mitch Sutton-Cole.

The musical has a book and direction by Micha Mirto, with music and lyrics by Jordan Paul Clarke, who will also serve as musical director. The production is produced by Suzanna Rosenthal.

The script-in-hand presentation will feature piano accompaniment and is intended to introduce the musical ahead of further development. The performance takes place during London Pride weekend.

The running time is approximately 95 minutes and the production is recommended for ages 12 and over.

Tickets and further information will be available at midday.
