Musical comedy Noël & Gertie finds its tour cast

Mayflower Southampton has announced casting for its new production of Noël & Gertie, which opens at Mayflower Studios in September before touring to Leicester Curve and the Grand Theatre, Blackpool.

Gary Tushaw will play Noël Coward and Rebecca Trehearn will play Gertrude Lawrence. They will be joined by Joey Hickman and Michaela Murphy, who appear as ensemble and actor-musicians, with Hickman also serving as musical director.

Devised by Sheridan Morley, Noël & Gertie follows the friendship between Coward and Lawrence, drawing on memories and songs from Coward’s works including Private Lives and Don’t Put Your Daughter on the Stage, Mrs Worthington. The show is directed by Mayflower’s associate artistic director Thom Southerland.

Noël & Gertie runs at Mayflower Studios from 19 to 27 September, with further creative team members to be revealed by the production.
