Matthew Warchus’ production of the Tracy Letts play begins performances at the Old Vic tonight!

Recently, we paid a visit to the Old Vic to sit down with four members of the UK premiere cast of Mary Page Marlowe.
Director Matthew Warchus has assembled a stellar company and a number of them share something “a little bit naughty” in common… they are all Matilda The Musical alumni.
Alisha Weir, who starred as the titular heroine in the Sony/Netflix film adaptation, joins her stage counterpart – Olivier Award-winning West End cast member Eleanor Worthington-Cox – and fellow originators Melanie La Barrie (Mrs Phelps) and Lauren Ward (Miss Honey) to tackle a very different kind of project.
Find out all about their reunion of sorts, bringing Mary Page Marlowe to London in the video below:
The cast also includes Susan Sarandon, Andrea Riseborough (who played Mrs Wormwood in the Matilda The Musical movie) and Rosy McEwen, all playing Mary Page Marlowe, Daniella Arthur-Kennedy as Lorna, Eden Epstein as Roberta Marlowe, Clare Hughes as Wendy Gilbert, Gilbert Kyem Jnr as Ben, Kingsley Morton as Connie, Hugh Quarshie as Andy, Ronan Raftery as Dan, Paul Thornley as Ray, and Noah Weatherby as Ed Marlowe. The role of Louis is shared by Felix Anderson, Griffin Ashton (who also appeared in Matilda The Musical on stage and screen) and Dexter Pulling.
The play, told across 90 minutes in 11 scenes, presents 70 years in the life of Mary Page Marlowe, portrayed by five different actors.
The production features set and costume design by Rob Howell, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound by Simon Baker, casting by Jim Carnahan and Sam Stevenson, children’s casting by Amy Beadel, dialect coaching by Penny Dyer, and voice work by Charlie Hughes D’Aeth. Lilac Yosiphon is associate director, with associate sound by Emma Laxton, associate costume by Lucy Gaiger, and wigs, hair and make-up supervision by Campbell Young Associates.
Mary Page Marlowe runs until 1 November, with a press night set for 8 October. Tickets are on sale now.
