The award-winning contemporary dance company IMPERMANENCE will host a special summer gala on 7 July at the Mount Without in Bristol, featuring a one-off performance of Venus and Adonis by Mark Rylance.

Presented with live musical accompaniment, Rylance’s appearance at the gala event has been scheduled to support the company’s programme for the coming year. The Mount Without is a specially-converted Grade II listed church in Bristol.

The evening also includes a solo choreographed by Martha Graham, performed by Laurel Dalley Smith of the Martha Graham Dance Company in an original costume. The piece is supported by Yorke Dance Project.

Audiences will also be offered a preview of Venus 2.0, a new work for six dancers currently in rehearsal and set to appear at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe.

The event begins at 6pm, with performances concluding by 9pm. Tickets, available through the venue website, include a complimentary cocktail and bar snacks. Attendees are encouraged to dress for a celebration.

For those unable to attend the gala, the venue’s summer programme continues with Hope Hunt and The Ascension into Lazarus by Oona Doherty on 9 and 10 July.
