Major revival of Sweeney Todd to play in 2026

A new revival of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street has been confirmed for next year.

The multi-award-winning musical by Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler follows a barber hell-bent on revenge.

It was announced as part of a whopper new season from Birmingham Rep. Find out more about other shows on offer here.

Sweeney Todd will be directed by the Rep’s artistic director Joe Murphy and feature design by Elin Steele.

The revival will play across the summer from 4 July to 9 August 2026.
