First look photos have been released for the world premiere of Weird.

Written by Nick Butcher, Kerri Watt and Fraser Watt, Weird retells Shakespeare’s Macbeth through the perspective of the three witches, with a pop score of original songs.

As the witches, Gabriela Benedetti plays Phoenix, Hope Dawe plays Luna, and Kingsley Morton plays Angelique. They are joined by Scarlet Bilham as Lady Macbeth, Elliott Evans as Banquo, Andrew Patrick-Walker as King Duncan and Macduff, and Dean John Wilson as Macbeth.

The musical is directed by Tim Jackson, with choreography by Alexzandra Sarmiento. The creative team also includes set designer Andrew Exeter, costume designer Gabriella Slade, lighting designer Howard Hudson, sound designer Paul Gatehouse and orchestrator, musical supervisor and co-arranger Joe Beighton.

Playing at Newcastle Theatre Royal, the new British musical runs until 31 January 2026.

As part of the Newcastle run, more than 5,000 schoolchildren from across the North East will attend performances through a collaboration between producer Michael Harrison and Newcastle Theatre Royal.
