It has been announced that a new musical adaptation of the film Jaws will be diving into the London Palladium later this year.

The team behind the production hope to immerse the audience by flooding the stalls during the performance. Patrons are encouraged to bring their own snorkels.

The production will also feature a full-sized animatronic shark and a wave machine, and new songs including "We're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat" and "Derr-nerr… Derr-nerr…".

Cast is yet to be announced, but it has been rumoured that it might include Jamie Carper, Lily Sole and Rosamund Pike.

The show will be produced by Cameron Mackereltosh, with music and lyrics from Eelton John.

One insider said: "The team may have bitten off more than they can chew, but it's going to a be a whale of a time." Tickets will go on sale soon via Sea Tickets.
