Live Theatre have announced their new varied season, starting with a timely link to the Olympics called The Prize which plays from Wednesday 29 August to Saturday 8 September.
Steve Gilroy and Richard Stockwell’s play shows the sacrifices athletes give to enter the Olympics and the cast includes Christ Connel who is known from his performances in the Pitman Painters and Close the Coalhouse Door.
Chalet Lines brings us life during five decades at a Butlins Holiday camp and runs from 13 September to 6 October and has just finished at run at London’s Bush Theatre. Author, Lee Mattinson and cast discuss the play on 5 October at 5pm.
30 October gives us the opening of London by Simon Stephens which runs until 10 November.
I’m Just Saying, as part of Juice, the NewcastleGateshead Festival for children and young people, the concerns of young people are highlighted in six short plays written by 12 and 13 year olds.
Saturday 8 September at 11am and 1pm the Theatre has tours to parts of the building not normally open to the public.
