Layton Williams, Sam Tutty, Lesley Manville and more nominated for Tony Awards

The Tony Awards nominations have been revealed.

Broadway musicals The Lost Boys and Schmigadoon lead with 12 nominations apiece, while there were strong showings from Ragtime (11 nominations) and Cats: The Jellicle Ball (9 nominations).

On the UK side (and shows that have played on these shores), Olivier and WhatsOnStage Award winner Layton Williams was nominated for his performance as the Iceberg in Titanique, while Olivier and WhatsOnStage Award-winner Sam Tutty was also nominated for his performance in Two Strangers (Carry A Cake Across New York) alongside his co-star Christiani Pitts.

Other nominees from the UK include stars Luke Evans and Daniel Radcliffe, for The Rocky Horror Show and Every Brilliant Thing, while Lesley Manville and Mark Strong were both nominated for their turns in Oedipus.
