The double bill features Allen and Bryan Dick as the older and younger Hogarth
Images have been released of the opening night of Hogarth's Progress, Nick Dear's double bill of plays at the Rose Theatre Kingston.
The two shows, The Taste of the Town and The Art of Success, are both directed by Anthony Banks and star Keith Allen as the older William Hogarth and Bryan Dick as the younger William Hogarth.
Stars who attended included Joe Thomas, Alison Steadman, Harriet Thorpe and Kara Tointon. Penny Downie and Niamh Cusack also attended the evening, having starred in The Art of Success in 1986.
The shows chart two stages of the painter's life, the first over a bawdy night in 1730 the second 30 yeas later as the artist nears the end of his career.
