The homeless charity has announced plans for its new season
Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet hosted a gala dinner on Saturday night (16 May) for Cardboard Citizens, the award-winning theatre charity that works with the homeless.
Winslet, who is an ambassador of the company, made a speech to guests and met with Cardboard Citizens' members.
Artistic director Adrian Jackson said: "We are immensely privileged to have the support of one of the world's greatest actors. Without Kate and the many other people who support our work we wouldn't be where we are today, bringing previously unheard stories to the public's awareness."
Jackson also unveiled the company's new season, which will examine housing over the last 150 years, including seven new plays on the subject. A project entitled Street/Life will tell the stories and histories of individuals living on one street in East London.
