Julie Hesmondhalgh in Mother Courage at the Royal Exchange: first look photos

Images have been released offering a first look at Julie Hesmondhalgh in Mother Courage in the Headlong and Manchester Royal Exchange production.

Hesmondhalgh is joined by Rose Ayling-Ellis, Simeon Blake-Hall, Hedydd Dylan, Conor Glean, Colm Gormley, Kevin McMonagle, Tachia Newall, Nick Pynn and Guy Rhys in the piece, which is and up-to-date staging of Brecht's timeless play about war and sacrifice.

Amy Hodge directs the new adaptation by Anna Jordan which runs until 2 March with opening night this evening.

Design for the show is from Joanna Scotcher, lighting from Lizzie Powell, sound from Carolyn Downing and movement from Raquel Meseguer.
