Iconic author, director and designer Jean-Paul Gaultier will bring his revue and fashion show hybrid production Fashion Freak Show to London this summer.

Fashion Freak Show will feature actors, dancers and circus artists, performing against a giant video wall backdrop at Southbank Centre. Also appearing will be recordings from some of Gaultier's famous supporters and friends, as well as a number of exclusively designed costumes.

The revue tells the story of Gaultier's growth from a schoolboy through to becoming the pioneer of famous '90s couture shows. The piece is co-directed by Gaultier and Tonie Marshall, with choreography by Marion Motin and an appearance by Rossy de Palma.

Gaultier said: "I am honoured that my Fashion Freak Show will premiere at Southbank Centre. London is dear to my heart and a constant source of inspiration. I have been coming here since my youth and have been greatly influenced by British music, theatre and cinema throughout my career from The Rocky Horror Show through Punk and New Wave and I keep coming back. I hope that audiences will enjoy the show as much as I did creating it."

The production runs from 23 July to 2 August.
