James Pidgeon announces first season at Shoreditch Town Hall

New director of Shoreditch Town Hall James Pidgeon has announced his first season at the venue.

In February 2018, Nigel Barrett and Louise Mari with Abigail Conway stage Party Skills for the End of the World which arrives in London following its premiere as part of the Manchester International Festival.

The Wardrobe Ensemble's hit Edinburgh show Education, Education, Education (17 to 21 April) will run in April. Matt Trueman wrote a four-star review of the show for WhatsOnStage when it originally opened.

Other Edinburgh transfers include Daniel Bye's Instructions for Border Crossing (26 to 29 March), Curious Directive's VR/live theatre hybrid Frogman (4 to 14 April), The Nature of Forgetting (24 to 28 April) and Bertrand Lesca and Nasi Voutsas’s Total Theatre Award winning show, Palmyra (17 to 28 April). WhatsOnStage called Palmyra 'Sublime' when it ran in Edinburgh.

The season also includes The Claim (16 to 26 January) by Tim Cowbry, which is a response to the stories of people seeking refuge in the UK. China Plate presents Urielle Klein-Mekongo's Yvette (10 to 12 May) as well as a new work from Dom Coyote We Can Time Travel (24 April to 5 May). Identity is a collaboration between Shoreditch Town Hall and East London Dance, which celebrates east London's dance and fashion culture in an immersive underground event.

The season opens with shows running as part of the London International Mime Festival such as Santa Madera, Vu and Between the Dog and the Wolf in January.

Jamie Lloyd has also been announced as an associate artist at the venue following his productions of The Pitchfork Disney and Killer earlier this year.
