WhatsOnStage Award winner Jack Wolfe will join the Broadway company of Hadestown later this year.
Wolfe, who won Best Supporting Performer in a Musical at the 2024 WhatsOnStage Awards for his performance in Next to Normal, is set to take over the role of Orpheus at the Walter Kerr Theatre this autumn. His performance in the role on Broadway marks his debut on the New York stage.
He will be joined by Descendants star Morgan Dudley (Eurydice), Tony winner Paulo Szot (Hades), Stereophonic star Rebecca Jones (Persephone) and Grammy winner Kurt Elling (Hermes), marking the fist time that the full principal cast has been changed at the same time since 2019.
The new cast will begin performances from 2 September 2025, though Wolfe will not be performing from 9 to 21 September.
Hadestown, written by Anaïs Mitchell and directed by Rachel Chavkin, reimagines the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice with a folk and jazz-inspired score. The musical opened on Broadway in 2019 and won eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
The show also continues its West End run at the Lyric Theatre.
