The Take That singer met the group at rehearsals for his musical based on their story

Photos have been released giving a look into rehearsals for Tim Firth and Gary Barlow's musical The Girls.

The musical opens at the Phoenix Theatre next month, and is based on the true story of a group of ladies from a Women's Institute who release a nude calendar to raise funds for a local hospital.

The story was also adapted into a film in 2003 which starred Helen Mirren and Julie Walters.

Barlow and Firth's musical version is nominated for Best Regional Production at this year's WhatsOnStage Awards.

The West End production will star Claire Machin, Sophie-Louise Dann, Debbie Chazen, Claire Moore and Joanna Riding.
