A new version of Little Red Riding Hood comes to Liverpool’s Actors Studio this Christmas
A humorous adaptation of a family favourite is sure to have audiences roaring with laughter this Christmas.
Penned by Karen Blick, Little Red Riding Hood will take place at Liverpool's premier fringe venue the Actors Studio from 3-21 December.
It is hoped the production, which has been directed by Barrie Ryan English, will offer an alternative to pantomime – while also leaving both children and adults in the festive spirit. It has been produced by English Rice Productions and The Liverpool Actors Studio.
In this new version of the classic children's tale, Red is an ambitious and hard working ‘A' grade student who won't invite any mates round for tea in case her madcap Mum, Delilah, embarrasses her. Her gran, Doris, is a new age hippy healer who can balance your chakras, heal your aura and loves QVC.
Barrie Ryan English, artistic director at the Actors Studio said: "Last year we had new heating installed so we were able to produce the theatre's first Christmas show, The Gingerbread Man, which was a huge success.
"We are absolutely thrilled to be delivering another festive production for all the family and hope to further enhance our reputation for providing high quality shows that are unique, creative and affordable for all."
