Hugh Jackman and Sonia Friedman’s theatrical partnership Together has announced two new productions for its 2026 season at Audible’s Minetta Lane Theatre in New York City, joining the previously announced return of Hannah Moscovitch’s Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes.

The first is a revival of Tom Noonan’s What Happened Was, which will star Corey Stoll and Cecily Strong. The two-hander follows a pair of co-workers on a first date in a Manhattan apartment. Noonan, who died recently, wrote and directed the 1994 film adaptation of the play, which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. This will be the first major revival of his work. Performances run from 14 April to 14 June.

The second new production is New Born, a collection of three monologues by Ella Hickson, performed by Marianna Gailus, Hugh Jackman, and Sepideh Moafi. Commissioned jointly by Sonia Friedman Productions and Audible Theater, the pieces follow three unrelated characters — a tree surgeon, a young woman on the prairie, and a new mother — whose stories span centuries and continents. Performances begin 8 May and run to 8 June.

All three productions in the season are directed by Ian Rickson. Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes, which received its New York premiere last year with Jackman and Ella Beatty, begins performances on 17 March and runs to 30 April.

Tickets for 25 per cent of seats at every performance are priced at $35, available on the day of show via TodayTix or at the Minetta Lane box office. Both What Happened Was and New Born will be recorded and released on Audible following their runs.
