Another Cole Porter fan favourite returns!

A new production of High Society will open at the Barbican Theatre next summer before touring, presented by Trafalgar Theatre Productions and the Barbican.
The show, with music and lyrics by Cole Porter and a book by Arthur Kopit, begins performances on 19 May 2026, with a press night on 27 May, and runs until 11 July. Tickets go on general sale on 9 December.
Lead casting has also been revealed for the London and tour runs.
The production is directed by Rachel Kavanaugh, with choreography by Anthony Van Laast and musical supervision by Stephen Ridley, who will lead a full orchestra. The musical is based on Philip Barry’s play The Philadelphia Story, with additional lyrics by Susan Birkenhead.
The score includes Porter standards such as “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire”, “I Love Paris”, “Well, Did You Evah?”, “Just One of Those Things”, “Let’s Misbehave”, “You’re Sensational” and “True Love”. The story follows preparations for a society wedding that begin to unravel as past relationships resurface and an intrusive reporter arrives.
Casting beyond the two leads will be announced later.
