In celebration of the upcoming tenth anniversary of the Broadway production of Hamilton, Walt Disney Studios is set to release the filmed version of the show in September.

Furthermore, screenings will include an exclusive special prologue to the film entitled “Reuniting the Revolution”. It will feature new interviews with the original cast and creative team members, as they reflect on the impact the show has had on their lives ten years on.

Director and producer Thomas Kail commented: “When we filmed Hamilton, we wanted to try to capture the feeling of being in the Richard Rodgers Theatre during that first year on Broadway, and we’re thrilled that audiences will now have the opportunity to experience it on the big screen.”

The recording features the original Broadway cast, including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odom Jr, Daveed Diggs and more.

Hamilton tells the story of Alexander Hamilton, one of America’s founding fathers, and it has a book, music and lyrics by Miranda. It is directed by Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire and is based on Ron Chernow’s biography of Alexander Hamilton.

The production features scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Paul Tazewell, lighting design by Howell Binkley, sound design by Nevin Steinberg and hair and wig design by Charles G Lapointe.

Hamilton will be released in cinemas across the UK and Ireland on 26 September 2025. It will also be screened in the USA, Canada, and Puerto Rico on 5 September, and in Australia and New Zealand on 13 November.
