Hamilton celebrated ten years on Broadway with two performances yesterday.
Lin-Manuel Miranda‘s hit musical tells the story of Alexander Hamilton, one of America’s founding fathers, and it has a book, music and lyrics by Miranda.
It is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire and is based on Ron Chernow’s biography of Alexander Hamilton.
The production features scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Paul Tazewell, lighting design by Howell Binkley, sound design by Nevin Steinberg and hair and wig design by Charles G Lapointe.
Hamilton holds the record for the longest-running show in the history of the Richard Rodgers Theatre, marking this week’s special occasion with performance number 3535.
At last night’s curtain call, producer Jeffrey Seller thanked the hundreds of people part of the legacy of Hamilton – from cast, creative team, theatre staff, marketing and beyond.
In attendance were over 100 Hamilton alumni, including 23 members of the original Broadway cast, who were all welcomed to the stage and performed a special medley – led by the one and only Miranda.
