Further casting announced for Old Vic Electra with Kristin Scott Thomas

Amanda Drew, Jack Lowden and Diana Quick are among the cast

Further casting has been announced for Sophocles' Electra at the Old Vic which, as previously reported, stars Kristin Scott Thomas in the title role.

Joining her in the cast will be Amanda Drew (Chrysothemis), Jack Lowden (Orestes), Diana Quick (Clytemnestra), as well as Golda Rosheuvel, Thalissa Teixeira and Peter Wight.

Drew's recent stage credits include The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Twelfth Night and John Gabriel Borkman at the National. On TV she has recently been seen in EastEnders.

Lowden recently received both an Olivier and Ian Charleson Award for his role as Oswald in Richard Eyre’s production of Ghosts at The Almeida and Trafalgar Studios.

Quick has appeared extensively on stage in productions at the RSC, Royal Court and National Theatre, and remains well known for her portrayal of Julia Flyte in Brideshead Revisited.

Electra is directed by Ian Rickson, who recently directed Kristin Scott Thomas in Pinter's Old Times.

opens at the Old Vic on 1 October 2014 (previews from 22 September).
