Further cast has joined the cast of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Hollywood Bowl, from 1 to 3 August.
Raúl Esparza is set to play Pontius Pilate, Josh Gad will play Herod, Phillipa Soo will play Mary, Milo Manheim plays Peter, Hadestown UK star Zachary James plays Caiaphas, Tyrone Huntley plays Simon with Brian Crum as Annas. They join the previously announced Cynthia Erivo as Jesus and Adam Lambert as Judas.
Featuring lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, this staging is directed and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo, with Stephen Oremus as musical director and conductor.
The company includes Ian Ward, Joey Taranto, Clinton Roane, LJ Benet, Cooper Clack and L. T. Martinez as the Apostles, Isaiah Bailey as the Priest, Brad Sharp as Apostle and Priest, John E Lucas as Priest, Summer Greer as Soul Singer, Oyoyo Joi and Krystle Rose Simmons as Apostles and Soul Singers, and Emily Goglia as Maid by the Fire.
The ensemble features John Krause, Nathan Madden, Chris Hernandez, Morgan Marcell, Jennifer Florentino, Brandon Leffler, Damian Caraballo and Juliet Johnson, with pit singers Ayana Haviv, Gracie Laboy, Natalie Taylor, Mariah Meshae, Suzanne Waters and Sara Gomez.
The creative team also includes scenic designer Jason Ardizzone-West, costume designer Emilio Sosa, projection designer Peter Nigrini, lighting designers Tyler Lambert-Perkins and Tyler Glover, sound designer Jonathan Burke, and hair and makeup designer Brandi Strona.
